Addo Elephant Back Safari Lodge accommodation
The Addo Elephant Lodge accommodations are perfectly designed to blend discreetly into their surrounding valley bushveld environment. The private and exclusive suites, some nestled in the Yellowwood forest and others set on the hillside offering extraordinary views, are housed on elevated wooden decks. Constructed of part canvas, part recycled Brazilian pine and luxuriously decorated to evoke Hemingway's Africa of yesteryear, we invite you to relax in the remarkably spacious, sophisticated suites in the Heart of the Addo Region.
The Greater Addo Elephant National Park is approximately 72km's (about 45 miles) from Port Elizabeth and is the only game reserve where the Addo Elephant is still found. Known as the 'valley of elephants and roses', the park was established to save this elephant from extinction and is now the most concentrated elephant reserve in Africa.
Addo Elephant National Park is a malaria-free game reserve and it's proximity to The Garden Route, has resulted in increased safari seekers visiting this Game Reserve and making it the perfect Family safari destination - children are welcome at Addo Elephant Lodge. Addo is home to the 'Big 5' (elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard and lion). Bird watching is also excellent.
