It is a colorful 11 day tour combining the scenic diversity of Cape Town and the Garden Route and the wildlife of the Kruger National Park.

Day 1: Johannesburg - Kruger National Park
You will be collected from your Johannesburg hotel and head east to the Mpumalanga region.
After freshening up at your lodge enter the world famous Kruger National Park and spend the afternoon game viewing in your closed touring vehicle. The park offers some of the best game viewing and wildlife opportunities in the world – and you will soon appreciate the challenges of managing this unique reserve. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Protea Hotel Kruger Gate is situated at the Paul Kruger Gate of the Kruger National Park, just outside the town of Hazyview. This rustic and elegant safari lodge-styled hotel is set on the banks of the Sabie River amidst towering indigenous trees. The spacious and comfortable en-suite rooms offer air-conditioned rooms which feature en-suite bathrooms, free Wi-Fi and modern technology as well as spectacular private verandas and walkways high in the riverine forest canopy. With the incredible wildlife of Kruger National Park at your doorstep, you have plenty to explore during your stay.
After an exciting day on safari, you can relax at the pool or enjoy sundowners on a game-viewing deck that overlooks the Park. A highlight of your stay will be dining in the stunning open air Lapa Restaurant where the the African stars are your ceiling.
Day 2: Safaris in Kruger National Park
The day begins with early morning coffee or tea, followed by a thrilling open vehicle game drive (with English speaking game ranger) through Kruger National Park with pre-packed breakfast. Your guide will endeavour to spoil you with sightings of the Big 5, general game and prolific bird life. Return to the lodge for lunch (own account) and a short siesta.
In the afternoon we will journey once again through the magnificent expanses of the Kruger National Park, unrivaled in its diversity of flora and fauna. Enjoy an afternoon of game viewing in your closed touring vehicle pursuing the Big 5 and other rare and endangered species.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Panorama Route
Enjoy breakfast before setting out to explore the magnificent Panorama Route, one of the most scenic routes in the region, offering glorious views, spectacular landscapes and exquisite waterfalls. Visit majestic sights including God’s Window, the Three Rondavels and Blyde River Canyon – the third largest canyon of its kind in the world, Bourke's Luck Potholes and the charming village of Graskop, one of the first gold mining camps in the country. Optional (for own account) open vehicle game drives are available, should you prefer not to join the Panorama Route tour.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Travel to Cape Town
Enjoy breakfast before starting the return journey to Johannesburg. Arrive in Johannesburg, at O.R. Tambo International Airport, at approximately 2.30pm, for your onward flight to Cape Town (flight at additional cost).
On arrival in Cape Town, the oldest city in South Africa, spectacularly set at the foot of Table Mountain, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel, where the remainder of the day is yours to relax or explore the city at your own pace. [B]

Set in the heart of Sea Point, only minutes away from Cape Town’s city centre and the V & A Waterfront, this hotel offers modern convenience and contemporary comfort blended with décor inspired by South African art. The en suite rooms, with either stunning mountain or sea views, offer all necessary modern amenities. Unwind in the friendly atmosphere of the La Café Coffee Bar, also a hotspot for cocktails from sundowners to late. The La Café Restaurant serves delicious buffet breakfasts and the Seven Spur restaurant offers a classic steak and salad valley menu on site or as room service. Guests can relax at the sparkling plunge pool overlooking the vibrant Sea Point promenade and get active at the fitness centre.

Day 5: Cape Town
Continue your journey of discovery by joining a full day tour of the Cape Peninsula. Drive through Sea Point, the seaside village of Hout Bay and then to Cape Point. Return to Cape Town through the historic naval base of Simon’s Town and Muizenberg to visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, a centre for the preservation of the region’s unique flora. Overnight in Cape Town.

Day 6: Cape Town
A full day at leisure. Perhaps enjoy a sightseeing tour to Table Mountain (own account) or simply explore the city. Although a small city, Cape Town is packed with sightseeing attractions, excellent bars, cafes and restaurants as well as colorful craft markets. There is also the Two Oceans Aquarium, Robben Island or alternatively relax on one of Cape Town’s many beaches. Overnight in Cape Town. [B]

Day 7: Cape Town to Mossel Bay
After an early morning departure from Cape Town, we’ll travel along Sir Lowry’s Pass, with its magnificent views from the top, to Grabouw and Elgin, a lush landscape surrounded by majestic mountains. Our journey continues to Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa, where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. The area has largely been untouched and unexplored with its rugged coast line being the graveyard for many a ship. The historic Cape Agulhas Lighthouse is considered the icon that signifies the tip of Africa and that creates unforgettable memories. After this thrilling experience, we continue via historic Swellendam, the third oldest town in South Africa, to Mossel Bay, from where the Garden Route extends to the Storms River in the east.

Day 8: Mossel Bay to Oudtshoorn
After breakfast we continue our journey to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the world and home to the spectacular limestone caverns of the Cango Caves. Visit an Ostrich Farm for a guided tour. Enjoy a wine tasting at a local wine estate before setting off on a tour of the Cango Caves, one of the world’s great natural wonders, sculpted by nature through the ages.

La Plume is a family-owned 1902 Victorian homestead on a working ostrich, alfalfa and vine farm outside the town of Oudtshoorn offering warm country hospitality and accommodations in refined style. Enjoy relaxing on the cool veranda with its sweeping view across the Olifant’s River Valley to the Swartberg Mountains. The spacious en suite rooms are tastefully furnished with gracious antiques and offer all modern conveniences.

Day 9: Oudtshoorn to Knysna
After breakfast, travel over the Outeniqua Pass to George, the sixth oldest town in South Africa, with many historical landmarks such as the Slave Tree and King Edward VII Library building; said to be the best example of Edwardian architecture in the town. The tour travels via Wilderness, an attractive holiday resort to Knysna, known as the oyster box of South Africa, nestling on the banks of a beautiful lagoon in the heart of the Garden Route. Enjoy a lagoon cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve (weather permitting), where you can take a trailer ride to the top of the Western Head to enjoy panoramic views of the town and lagoon, returning for lunch. The afternoon is at leisure to further explore this charming town set around a natural harbour lagoon.

Day Ten: Knysna
Today you’ll have the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the Knysna area. Your journey will include a visit to the Garden of Eden, set in the lush, green, indigenous Knysna forest. The major attraction is the forest itself, beautiful yellow wood trees, thick green foliage and streams. Afterwards you’ll have the opportunity to visit Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary, where you will be able to see a variety of primates, roaming free in the forest. The sanctuary is well known for its efforts to rehabilitate and free previously caged primates.
The tour continues to the famous Eastern Head, where you will enjoy spectacular views of the Knysna Heads (weather permitting). Afterwards you’ll travel to Brenton on Sea, a breathtaking holiday location and a nature lover’s paradise with its unspoilt beaches and peaceful surroundings. The remainder of the afternoon will be at leisure.

Day 11: Knysna to Port Elizabeth
After breakfast, you’ll head eastwards along the Tsitsikamma Forest to Port Elizabeth, known as the “friendly city”, with a wonderful climate. The tour ends on arrival in Port Elizabeth. Guests may disembark, on request, at Port Elizabeth Airport.
