Singita Lebombo Lodge:
Offering contemporary African chic, Singita Lebombo Lodge is a celebration of light and comfort with intrinsic touches that delight the senses. Structurally inspired by an eagle’s nest the 13 suites and one private-use villa perch high above the N’wanetsi River. A spectacular cliffside pool offsets views of the Lebombo Mountain foothills.
The design of these light-filled structures, floating between river and sky, was inspired by the many eagles’ nests built into the cliff face of the river bank. Sophisticated and contemporary, the glass-walled suites are romantic hideaways leading outdoors onto elevated wooden viewing decks where guests may sleep out with nothing more than mosquito netting between them and the stars. Throughout the lodge, the imaginative use of glass, wood, steel, and layered fabrics in muted shades invites the surrounding landscape indoors.
The private villa is the most exciting extension of the lodge; set apart from the main lodge, it features two 2-bedroom suites, each with a private pool, that link together to create a spectacular exclusive-use four-bedroom offering with a stunning shared pool. Built low down on the riverbank beneath mature trees, the private villa is fully staffed, has an open-plan kitchen and its own boma.
Other highlights of the lodge include a roof terrace and wine studio (a multi-level retreat that boasts a library, multi-media room, wine studio, and rooftop viewing area), an interactive kitchen, an espresso bar, and help-yourself deli, and an additional 25-meter lap pool. All communal areas of the lodge have been pushed out to ensure that the outside bursts in, offering elegant, calm, and meditative spaces immersed in a dramatic landscape of giant euphorbia trees.
Children aged 10 and over are welcome. All normal safari activities can be tailored to suit families. In the interest of safety, children’s participation in the game activities is at the discretion of your guide.
Singita Sweni Lodge:
Singita Sweni Lodge was influenced by the structures of dens, warrens, and lairs found in the area. Flanking the Sweni River, this tranquil sanctuary is elevated on stilts with decks of timber. Even when you’re indoors, you’ll have the sensation of being close to the river and trees. Singita Sweni Lodge is nestled beautifully amongst hundreds of trees at the edge of the Sweni River. In this tranquil, intimate hideaway, the decks of the lodge seem to hover in the branches, while inside, rich calming colors and textures echo the hues of the natural surroundings.
With its proximity to the river, guests at Singita Sweni Lodge are treated to up-close sightings of the incredible number of animals and birds that wander down to drink or wallow in the river.
An intimate hideaway hosting 6 suites; with decks that seem to hover in the branches and interiors that echo the hues of the natural surroundings. Designed with open-plan living in mind, your suite flows from the bathroom area, through to the lounge, and into the bedroom – yet if you wish, each area may be sealed off by curtains. Try the outdoor shower overlooking the river or – for a magical experience – ‘camp out’ under the stars on the day bed out on your viewing deck. Dressed in earthy chocolate and calming pistachio shades that echo the deep, dark hues of the riverine forest, the suites are svelte wood and glass boxes designed to float above the river.
Each treehouse is connected to the other via elevated wooden walkways that are nestled in the branches of the surrounding trees. Living spaces are conducive to open-air living with floor-to-ceiling glass walls, timber decks for private dining, and a magical outdoor shower and star bed for intimate ‘camp-outs’.
