Tongabezi River Cottages:

Tongabezi Lodge offers five River Cottages situated along the river-bank with stunning views.
Redefining life on the banks of the Zambezi River the River Cottages feature high ceilings, giant bespoke wood and glass windows and doors leading onto expansive sustainable pine decks. The signature African fusion Tongabezi style has been distilled to the best of 'Made in Zambia' in both the interior and outdoor spaces.
The Cottages all feature double beds which can convert to twins on request. Each has a large double bed or two singles with a spacious mosquito net. All cottages have an en-suite bathroom with separate bath and shower. Indoor and outdoor areas for relaxing, dining and enjoying the expansive river views completes the suite.
Tongabezi is famous for keeping the romance of travel alive and all the Cottages were designed to provide a private haven where your every whim just happens to be attended to by your very own valet. With a wealth of in-depth knowledge of Tongabezi and the surrounding area, the valet invariably becomes an indispensable source of information.
The cottages are closed fronted with gauze netting in the windows so perfect for those guests slightly nervous of the open aspect of some of the Tongabezi houses but still wanting to enjoy the sounds of the African night.
Tongabezi Honeymoon House

Built with the perfect view, indulgence and privacy in mind the Honeymoon House is the original blueprint for luxury Tongabezi accommodation. The private balcony overlooks the river, providing a perfect setting for a secluded candlelit dinner beneath the stars. Alternatively, you can choose to dine with the other guests on one of the river decks.
Tongabezi Bird House
Tongabezi Bird House

Perched on a cliff, the Bird House features a large suspended deck, a claw footed, open-air bathtub and a private terrace for dining under the stars. Sleeps 2.
Tongabezi Tree House

Tongabezi Tree House

At the end of the swimming pool a hidden path winds along the cliff face to the secluded Tree House. Set against the basalt rock bed, amongst the branches of the riverine trees this house spreads out over various levels. The king size bed has a large canopied mosquito net and awe inspiring Zambezi views. An extended mezzanine lounging deck can also be used for private dining. The upstairs bathroom has a shower and a loo with a view. Suspended over the river the lowest deck is taken up by an extensive bathroom with a large sunken bath. All the inclusive Tongabezi activities are available ... but this house is so much part of the surroundings that you do not need to leave to experience the beauty and majesty of Zambia.
Tongabezi Nut House

Tongabezi Nut House

A haven from the elements, it is entirely enclosed with light streaming in through every wall. The Nut House combines the best art, textiles and textures from around the African continent with design elements from Morocco, Mali, Zambia and South Africa.
The palette is easy on the eyes, seamlessly blending the house into Zambia's natural scenery. Folding doors open onto the elevated private garden and infinity plunge pool. Spectacular views over the Zambezi from the elevated position on the river bank are guaranteed.
Tongabezi Dog House

The Dog House occupies another world at the furthest edges of the Tongabezi garden. It is the perfect escape for families and friends who love travel and do so together.
Two large en-suite bedrooms connect to a central living, dining and play area by elevated walkways. An infinity plunge pool hangs over the Zambezi River and the house comes with a valet, a private guide and vehicle - it is quite simply an inspired choice for a family of up to five.
Here, three separate decks are connected to each other and the rest of the world only by elevated walkways. Sustainable pine forests have provided the beautiful wooden decking that is raised high enough to allow the mighty Zambezi River to run underneath all the rooms during high water. Views are spectacular from every window, sofa, bed and bath.
Tongabezi Garden House

The Garden House is the Tongabezi Family retreat that is hidden away from the river banks and completely enclosed by a private wall, offering seclusion and a happy alternative to the sweeping Zambezi views that can still be enjoyed from The Lookout or any of a number of decks dotted around the lodge to enjoy river views. The spacious house features two en-suite bedroom, a large private lounge and dining room and an exclusive plunge pool. It is a very private, very safe space where all the members of the family can spread out a little and indulge in an exclusive dining room and of course run around the garden and cool off in the private plunge pool. Tongabezi is proud of our crazily indulgent reputation and the Garden House is no compromise: Whether you are a wide eyed bush baby or parents who believe romance should always be a priority. Funky African fusion design and lavish attention to detail extends to a new spin on every single Tongabezi activity ensuring that every member of the family can enjoy a fulfilling, exciting exploration of the famous area.
Sindabezi Island:
Sindabezi Island has 4 open-fronted thatched chalets and 1 open-fronted Honeymoon Chalet. Two rooms have a bath as well as shower and three can convert to twin on request.

Your stay at Sindabezi Island begins with either a short boat ride or a guided canoe trip down the Zambezi River to the island. Along the way there are opportunities for game viewing as we pass close to the shores where animals wander to drink at the river’s edge. The main camp area is set on the sand and is the perfect place to relax and take in the peace and tranquillity of this tiny island.
Sindabezi Island is named after the River Shinde where it meets the Zambezi River right near the location of the island.
Sleeping only 10 guests in five open fronted thatched chalets on wooden decks overlooking the river Sindabezi is also the most environmentally friendly island in the river – with zero grid dependence.
Rooms are lit romantically with hurricane lamps, candles and starlight at night. Our island manager and team of staff will look after guest’s every need to ensure an unforgettable experience.
Sindabezi can be combined with Tongabezi or as a standalone stay from where you can enjoy all activities on offer at Tongabezi. The island can also be booked as a private experience when travelling in a group or as a family.
