Chobe under Canvas - boat cruise on Chobe RiverOn arrival at Kasane Airport you will be warmly welcomed by a representative, who will drive you to &Beyond Chobe Under Canvas.
Located in the north of Botswana, with the Chobe River forming the country’s northern border, Chobe National Park is flanked in the south west by the Okavango Delta and the Moremi Game Reserve. Towards the south of the Chobe River lie flat floodplains that form a broad sweep of open grassland and woodland. A myriad pans and waterholes dot the plains.
The Chobe River and its floodplains provide an irresistible attraction for wildlife, which congregates there during the dry season. Vast herds of elephant abound, with between 500 and 5 000 elephant frequently seen on the floodplains. Watching the elephant families drink and bathe in the river is an unforgettable sight, all the more impressive when herds of buffalo, rafts of hippo and gigantic Nile crocodile are part of the scene. Lion and spotted hyena are frequently seen on the floodplains, where red lechwe, puku, zebra, sable and roan come out to graze.
Spend two nights at &Beyond Chobe Under Canvas in a comfortable and spacious mobile tent with en-suite bathroom. Your stay includes accommodation, three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, refreshments and game drives, scheduled safari activities, emergency medical evacuation insurance, laundry service as well as transfers to and from the airstrip (where applicable).
Adventures include twice-daily game drives in semi-open 4x4 vehicles, with guaranteed window seat, and a boat cruise along the Chobe River – perfect for photographic enthusiasts.
Chobe Under Canvas
Chobe under Canvas camp at nightLive out the adventure of a lifetime as close to nature as you can get in the relaxing solitude of the African landscape.

Carefully positioned as close as possible to the resident game, the comfortable mobile safari tents with en-suite bathrooms (with flush w.c. and steaming hot bucket shower) are in one of the top wildlife areas in the world, and home to some of the largest elephant herds on the African continent. Evidence of vast herds of wildlife wandering the African bush exists on the well-used animal trails that meander between the tents.

Green shadows on the walls of your tent, faint birdsong filtering through the trees and the sweet fragrance of morning dew on bush vegetation welcome each new day at Chobe Under Canvas. Steaming hot water in your en-suite bathroom’s bucket shower refreshes and revitalizes for the day ahead. Shady veranda areas offer a vantage point to enjoy the smaller details of bush life. Crisp linens and a spacious double bed welcome weary bodies after a long day filled with discovery.

Tucked in the shade of a dense forest deep in the pristine African bush in the game-rich Chobe National Park, a maximum of ten guests (five en-suite safari tents) revel in the total isolation of these private wildlife sites. Night time noises filter through canvas walls and well-used animal trails bring unexpected visitors to thrill and delight.

Tented guest areas create shady spaces to relax in the heat of the day or share a drink with friends in the evening hours, as dishes full of flavour find their way to dining tables. Sated, draw your chair closer to the fire as talk and laughter merge into the starry night, swapping stories meant to last a lifetime.

A maze of sparkling lagoons, meandering channels and overgrown islands teeming with wildlife, Botswana’s Okavango Delta lies like a sparkling jewel at the heart of the Kalahari Desert. Known as “the river that never finds the sea”, its crystal clear channels spread over the thirstlands of the Kalahari with their papyrus-fringed banks and fertile floating islands. Adapted for a life in and out of water, the elegant red lechwe and shy sitatunga are found in this watery wilderness. Lion, cheetah, leopard and African wild dog share the floodplains with large herds of elephant and buffalo. Hippo inhabit the deeper channels and lagoons, while honey badgers can be seen in broad daylight. Tall termite mounds are homes for families of dwarf and banded mongoose. Experience the delicate details of the glistening waterways on a mokoro (dugout canoe) ride, where iridescent dragonflies, frogs of every colour and jewel-like kingfishers live in the papyrus-lined banks.
