2 nights at Rra Dinare OR Mma Dinare
Rra Dinare OR Mma Dinare:

Mma and Rra Dinare are 2 new camps overlooking the Gomoti River in the South Eastern Okavango Delta.
Adjacent to Moremi Game reserve on south eastern side of the Delta, overlooking the Gomoti River and its flood plains, the camps are located in a private concession of 67,000 acres and have been designed to embrace the natural surroundings of the riverine forest. The airstrip which will be servicing the two camps is approximately 20min by chartered flight from Maun and 1h20min from Kasane. The camps are situated 45min game drive from the airstrip.
Since this area normally receives floods last it contains some of the closest dry-season watering points for the game that spreads out towards Nxai and Makgadikgadi Pans during the rains. Around this, there is a high density of game in the dry season but since quite a lot of the reserve is mopane woodlands (a favorite location for animals during the rains and early dry season) good game viewing is expected all year round.

This river system attracts a wide variety of game. Familiar favourites include: Elephant, Buffalo, Giraffe, Kudu, Impala, Tsessebe, Hippo, Crocodile, Genet, Honey Badger and a host of Plains Game. Rare Antelope breeds including Roan, Sable & Eland, not normally seen in the Okavango region, occur here. As the Gomoti is the main water source in the area, Lion, Leopard, Cheetah and Wild Dog come down to the riverside to drink and hunt, of course! The locations and views are spectacular with the classic flooding of the Okavango across the adjacent seasonal floodplains. For those keen on bird-watching, the combination of the wetlands and the drier Acacia and Mopane veldt provide a perfect habitat for a variety of aquatic species including Open Billed Storks, Hammerkops, Egrets, Ibis and forest/savannah dwellers including Raptors, Shrikes, Drongos, Sunbirds, Ground Hornbills and so on.
ACTIVITIES:
Game drives (day & night) in a private concession adjacent to Moremi Game reserve, on & off road, 6 people per vehicle only, driver & tracker (on night game drives). Seasonal water activities on Gomoti river and game walks available depending on local conditions.

Tau Pan (Central Kalahari Game Reserve):
Tau Pan accommodates up to 18 guests in specially designed thatched units on raised decks. The camp offers truly incredible views from the ridge of an ancient sand dune, an unusual experience in a land as flat as Botswana, and overlooks the famous Tau Pan - recognized for its stark beauty and remoteness.
This, the first safari camp to be built in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, is a model of environmental sensitivity. As with its sister camp, Nxai Pan, Tau Pan has been constructed with the delicate ecologies in mind. Both utilise only solar power for the generation of electricity, heating of water and pumping of water from deep under the Kalahari sands. Waste water is treated in a state-of-the-art sewerage treatment plant and the fully treated water is returned to the sands from whence it came.
Activities offered at Tau Pan are game drives, day trips to the well-known Deception Valley, Sunday, Piper and Passarge Pans, star gazing, bush brunches on Tau Pan, and nature walks with Bushman trackers.
After the summer rains – the Central Kalahari Game Reserve completely transforms as the blue sky fills with huge clouds, and the plains and pans burst with sweet grasses. This is one of the best game viewing areas in Botswana at this time of year and not many people to seem to aware of this – so the visitors are few.
The Central Kalahari Game Reserve gets animals such as springbok, gemsbok and wildebeest in their thousands and is quite a sight to behold. Predators abound with plentiful lions – especially the famous Kalahari black-maned lion, cheetah, leopard and jackals. Brown hyenas and wild dogs are also found in the area. Several species of antelopes make the trip to the sweet grasses of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve which include the eland, springbok, steenbok, gemsbok, hartebeest, kudu and duiker. Honey badgers are regular visitors as well as ground squirrels and meerkats and many an hour can be wiled away watching these fascinating animals. A definite inclusion to any Botswana itinerary.
Please note that Tau Pan is in a national park, a very ecologically sensitive area and for this reason no night drives or off road driving is permitted.
Nxai Pan
Nxai Pan is located on the western edge of the fossil pan from which the camp takes its name. The camp faces east over the open grasslands of the pans and accommodates a maximum of eighteen guests in thatched units specially designed to provide a constant and comfortable temperature throughout the year, when seasonal temperatures can fluctuate from below freezing to well over 45 degrees Celsius. Excellent game viewing is possible from the comfort of your rooms as the water hole in front of the camp draws a multitude of mammal species.
Activities offered at Nxai Pan are game drives, day trips to the famous Baines’ Baobabs and Khama Khama Pan, star gazing, as well as nature walks with Bushman trackers.
The Pan itself is a fossilized lake bed about 40 sq km in size. The landscape is largely covered by grassland and dotted with clusters of umbrella acacia trees and mopane woodland in the north. Nxai Pan is well known for its huge springbok population and once the rains have started, gemsbok, elephant and zebras migrate to the region. At this time zebra’s come in their thousands to drop their young at Nxai Pan. Extraordinarily large herds of giraffe’s can be seen with up to 30 in a group. These large herds of zebras, springbok, and wildebeest attract many predators – lion, cheetah, jackal and both spotted and the elusive brown hyena, as well as the endangered wild dog and the secretive leopard. There are large numbers of bat-eared fox and raptors that prey on the rodents and reptiles. At times, rhino have also been sighted. Also to be seen are the eland, greater kudu and red hartebeest.
Please note that Nxai Pan is in a national park, a very ecologically sensitive area and for this reason no night drives or off road driving is permitted.
