A highlight of any safari to Africa is seeing the magical Victoria Falls (also called Mosi-oa-Tunya; meaning the smoke that thunders), the rolling waters which plummet over the edge of the falls are regarded as the largest body of falling water and so are a sight to see.

Victoria Falls is about twice the height of Niagara Falls and well over twice the width of its Horseshoe Falls. The Falls form the border between Zimbabwe (town called Victoria Falls) and Zambia (town called Livingstone).

The River Club holiday relaxation

Located a short distance from the historical town of Livingstone and just half an hour's drive from the mighty Victoria Falls, The River Club forms a perfect end to a safari circuit in Southern or East Africa. Ideally situated away from all the noise of helicopters etc found in town so you can do as little or as much as you like. A host of activities await young and old, on property as well as around the Victoria Falls, which is known for it's many adventure activities. The River Club is ideal for family vacations and welcomes kids 6 years old and older.

One of a kind style of lodge in Livingstone and arguably the only boutique hotel in the Victoria Falls area. Soaked in ambiance and history, the restored 1940s homestead has a comfortable lounge, dining room, library and veranda where breakfasts and teas are enjoyed. Midday meals are often served in the lush gardens spread out beneath the trees.

The River Lodge also offers a separate kosher kitchen.

The eleven private and spacious suites are individually set within magnificent trees on the edge of the Zambezi River, overlooking pods of hippo into the Zambezi National Park. All are west facing and take advantage of the spectacular African sunsets. The rooms are named after people who in their day played a special part in the history of the country.
