In the main area; guests can swap safari stories around the inviting bar. Enjoy meals in the interactive kitchen; complete with a pizza oven (ideal fun for the kids to create their favorites); or in the traditional stone and reed boma, illuminated by dozens of candles and lanterns. Phinda is famous for its bush banquets in unexpected settings, and guests may well find themselves savoring their meal in a spectacular clearing in the bush beneath the stars.
A sparkling lodge rim flow pool follows the natural curves of the mountain. While a new ‘state of the art’ gym is ideal for fitness fanatics. A massage sala is available for those wanting to indulge in tranquil treatments.
Phinda Mountain Lodge accommodates a maximum of 50 guests; in 16 x suites, six x cottages (or three adjoining family cottages); and one x family suite. There is WiFi in suites and guest areas and disabled access with assistance.
Natural light streams through the expansive glass windows of the suites and cottages; while private decks provide breathtaking views of natural beauty. Each boasts an elegant en suite bathroom, an outdoor shower, well-stocked personal bars, and private plunge pools.

You will have exclusive access to a private safari vehicle and guide throughout your stay; when booking a family cottage or the family suite. This means your game drives can be tailor-make for your family’s interests, ages, and attention span of younger children. Leaving and coming back to the lodge at any time.

The family suite at &Beyond Phinda Mountain Lodge provides just the right balance of privacy and security for larger families traveling with children. The suite boasts a shared lounge area. As well as two elegant adult bedrooms. Each with an en suite bathroom (with indoor and outdoor showers). Additionally; two inter leading children’s rooms ensure that parents can keep a watchful eye on younger children. A private veranda off the shared lounge offers the ideal setting for gathering and swapping tales of the day’s adventures. While a nearby pathway leads directly to the sunny deck around the lodge pool. The family suite can accommodate up to 4 x adults and 4 x children under the age of 16.

The lodge is also able to accommodate a limited number of triple rooms. This means that should parents want to share a room with a child (16 years or younger); an additional bed will be set up in the parents’ room.
Child policy at Phinda Mountain Lodge
Children aged twelve years and older staying in suites; are permitted on game drives and nature walks. At the lodge manager’s discretion; kids aged six to eleven are permitted on game drives. Children younger than six cannot participate in game drives; however; childminders can be arranged; during game drives and meal times; at an additional cost.
If using a private vehicle; children of any age may go on a game drive with access to sightings being at the discretion of the guide; based on the behavior of both the child and animals. To ensure the safety of all; distances to animals may be greater, and certain sightings may be avoided.
